Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

The rogue defragmenter Windows Disk creeps onto hard drives quietly and then tries to play the part of a useful trial version of a system tool. Windows Disk does this poorly, however, since Windows Disk isn't able to perform any of the tasks of a true defragmenter, and will cause obvious and alarming problems on your system. Getting rid of not just Windows Disk but also the original infection that likely installed Windows Disk is highly important if you place any value on the integrity of your hard drive. Holding back on taking action may result in serious damage that can't be reverted, due to the invasive nature of Windows Disk's functions.
Windows Disk's Flood of Falsified Errors
Windows Disk may cause a number of problems either by itself or indirectly. Common signs of a rogue scanner like Windows Disk on a computer are altered security settings, Windows processes or security software crashing or refusing to run, web browsers being hijacked and redirected towards malicious sites, mysteriously low system resources such as RAM, and even the presence of other types of malware.
While all these problems are very serious threats to your computer, the main trait of Windows Disk is simply one of flooding the user with error messages. These messages are vast in quantity and diversity, and will occur without any regard for whether the content is accurate or not. They should be wholly ignored as deceptive attempts to force you to give money to criminals, and only serve to drive home the point that you need to uninstall Windows Disk the very instant you catch it. Here's just a sampling of the errors Windows Disk will dish up for you:
- Critical Error
A critical error has occurred while indexing data stored on hard drive. System restart required. - Windows - No Disk
Exception Processing Message 0x0000013 - Windows detected a hard drive problem.
A hard drive error occurred while starting the application. - Windows detected a hard drive problem.
Scanning for hard drive errors...
Hard drive scan helps to detect and resolve hard drive problems and system performance issues. - Critical Error!
Damaged hard drive clusters detected. Private data is at risk. - Critical Error!
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file System32496A8300. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware. - Low Disk Space
You are running very low disk space on Local Disk (C:). - Windows cannot find notepad. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.
- Fix Disk
Windows Disk Diagnostics will scan the system to identify performance problems.
Start or Cancel - System Restore
The system has been restored after a critical error. Data integrity and hard drive integrity verification required. - Critical Error
Hard Drive not found. Missing hard drive. - Activation Reminder
Memory Optimizer Activation
Advanced module activation required to fix detected errors and performance issues. Please purchase Advanced Module license to activate this software and enable all features. - Critical Error
RAM memory usage is critically high. RAM memory failure.
Be particularly cautious around errors that attempt to redirect you towards a website, or indicate that you should download or install something. This is just a means of Windows Disk making your problems even worse.
Kicking the Rogue Defragmenter Windows Disk Out
If you're having problems uninstalling Windows Disk easily, it may help to use a registry code. The code 0973467457475070215340537432225 will 'register' this useless rogue software without handing out any of your personal information or money. This should only be taken to account of a temporary measure and not a cure, since the presence of Windows Disk will continue to harm your system until you've completely deleted Windows Disk from your computer.
Windows Disk's resemblance to other rogue software can make Windows Disk easily detectable and removable by security software run in Safe Mode. Your software may not detect Windows Disk if you haven't updated malware definitions recently, so check the date on your last update before trying to delete Windows Disk. Updates for real security software are almost always free, and there are also quite a few freeware tools out there that will be more than happy to remove Windows Disk for you free of charge.

What do you do when your task manager has been taken by the virus????
What do you do when your task manager will not open because of the defrag bug?
Typically you can log on with a different account and run anti-malware software to remove the infection (or remove it manually by deleting the files). I just removed this particular malware and it changed all of the user profile files in "Document and Settings" to hidden files so that once you log back into the profile there is no shortcuts, start menu, favorites ect... Once the malware is removed open the "Documents and Settings" folder under the infected user profile and change the necessary files (Favorites, Desktop, Startup, ect...) back to a normal file (right click on the file and uncheck "Hidden" from properties. That should get it back to normal.
