Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 is a new addition to a group of fake anti-malware scanners that are often identified collectively by the term FakeRean. Besides creating fake alerts and fake system scans to puff its own appearance of security capabilities, Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 may also attack other Windows programs to reduce the reality of your PC's safety. Malware experts have also taken note of Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013's ability to adjust its name to the operating system that's infected – which other FakeRean-based PC threats have used to create multiple variants of a single PC threat, depending on what type of Windows is being compromised. Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 should, like all members of its ignominious family, be considered malicious, and deleting Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 with a real anti-malware application always should be your first go-to solution to a Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 infection.
Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013: A (Slightly) New Tune to Play for New Victims
Despite its flexible nature, Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 is, in terms of major functions, just the same as other WinPC Defender-based scamware products like Ultimate Defender, SystemDefender, IE Defender, Advanced XP Defender, XP Defender, WinDefender2008, PCTotalDefender, PC Defender 2008, Personal Defender 2009, WinDefender 2009, Perfect Defender 2009, Total Defender, Malware Defender 2009, WinPC Defender, PC Privacy Defender, Smart Defender Pro, Rogue.UltimateDefender, FraudTool.LastDefender.b and Security Defender Pro 2015. Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 displays different pop-ups that may imitate Windows alerts but include inaccurate content that misleads you about the presence of malware on your computer – common examples include alerts for spyware-related programs attacking your browser, unauthorized backdoor activity and similar high-level PC threats.
Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 can be seen by one of three names:
- Win 7 Defender 2013
- Vista Defender 2013
- XP Defender 2013
The name that Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 displays will match the operating system that's being infected. As might be guessed, SpywareRemove.com malware researchers haven't seen any signs of compatibility between Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 and non-Windows operating systems. Initial installations of Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 may be caused by fake online scanners, drive-by-download exploits (such as those carried out by Blacole exploit kits) or malicious downloads from hostile sites.
Accepting Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013's Idea of Defense Could Leave You in a Lot of Trouble
Name-swapping chameleon antics set aside, Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 has also invoked attention from SpywareRemove.com malware analysts due to the serious security attacks that its another variants have been known to use. These problems can range from deleting components of Windows to blocking website with fake error pages. In most cases, the majority of other programs will be blocked while Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 is open – which, of course, Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 does automatically.
Safe Mode can be used to terminate the startup exploits of many PC threats, including fake anti-malware products like Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013. If Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 or other PC threats continue to launch themselves even after you use Safe Mode, SpywareRemove.com malware experts recommend that you load a USB device with a clean OS. Booting your PC from an uninfected source will let you access Windows and remove Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 in a thorough anti-malware scan without Win 7/Vista/XP Defender 2013 ever 'waking up' to defend itself.
