Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Weather It Up is a weather forecast utility that's been categorized as adware, due to its features for launching additional advertising content. Although Weather It Up may provide some functions of use to you, its history primarily is one of installations that occur automatically, along with attempts to block its uninstallation after the fact. So far, the evidence is weighted towards deleting Weather It Up being the safest option for your PC, and malware researchers recommend making liberal use of anti-malware tools to verify that Weather It Up's removal goes more smoothly than this add-on would prefer.
Why the Online Forecast is for Perpetual Advertisements
Weather It Up is a Crossrider-based add-on for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer that provides weather-monitoring functions, but also injects ads into your Web browser. Although a trivial amount of advertising content would be an understandable price to pay for Weather It Up's features, malware researchers took note of Weather It Up generously using multiple formats of invasive advertising, including additional search results, injected text links, video advertisements and interstitial advertisements. These forms of advertisement content may create accessibility problems with the affected Web pages and frequently are responsible for poor browser performance.
Weather It Up advertisements also run the risk of exposing your browser to online hoaxes, possible threat installers and phishing attacks that attempt to acquire sensitive information. You can prevent attacks from most of these PC threats through the use of strong anti-malware security combined with common sense, but removing the associated adware always is advised for your online safety. Some other security concerns malware experts have with Weather It Up include its self-launching function, as well as its function for updating itself automatically, which could add other features besides the ones noted here.
An Online Weather Report without Any Advertisements Required
Since there are many examples of Internet weather utilities that don't require you to subject your browser to invasive changes, deleting Weather It Up add-ons always should be considered as the preferential and safest response to it. Traditionally, most adware programs with particularly poor reputations will try to block their deletion, and Weather It Up, unfortunately, also falls into this category. However, malware experts have not found any defensive functions associated with Weather It Up that would block its deletion through competent anti-malware applications.
Although Weather It Up is still being analyzed for its installation strategies, adware may be installed by a bundle that includes one or more applications. By far the most common distribution points for these bundles are free software websites and networks, although malware experts occasionally see other threats installing adware and other PUPs. A safe PC user who keeps his browser from loading potentially threatening or illicit content will have few if any chance exposures to Weather It Up or similar advertising add-ons.
