Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

MintCastNetworks is an adware that may generate a series of unrequested and annoying online ads. The people behind this questionable web extension promise to benefit both the developers of freeware and the end users. The creators of the adware serve as mediators: they offer a certain commission to everyone who decides to spread his add-ons with their help. Allegedly, this way the license of the distributed free plugins will remain free, which should be beneficial for both sides. In reality, however, MintCastNetworks uses this tactic for its own profit. The people who rely on MintCastNetworks to reach the customers are primarily amateurs, whose products offer limited utility to the user. However, these extensions may be advertised in such a way that the clients may take them as reliable browser enhancement tools.
MintCastNetworks also may rely on the 'bundling' method, which may be the reason you install some if its plugins unwillingly. It may happen because the 'Quick' menu, which most people select for the setup process, doesn't provide too many details about the additional components. Once the adware gets in, it may insert commercial materials in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. You may find some pop-ups, banners, interstitial ads, and even videos throughout your surfing sessions. These ads may become annoying with their intrusiveness because they may appear on different sites. Since you can never be sure where they will take you, it is advisable to ignore all commercial materials for security reasons. All extensions that use the help of MintCastNetworks for their distribution appear by the name 'MintCastNetworks' in the Control Panel. Sometimes the removal process may be a tricky job, so you should use a dedicated anti-malware product.
