Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

BoanKorea is a fake anti-spyware program that specializes in the Korean demographic. However, despite its distinctive marketing preferences, BoanKorea is still able to affect most Windows computers with its attacks, which can range from fake infection alerts to severe software-blocking behavior and browser hijacks. Although BoanKorea takes on the appearance of a trustworthy PC security application, SpywareRemove.com malware experts note that BoanKorea is no better at removing malicious software than other Korean scamware products, however, as long as you have access to a genuine anti-malware program, deleting BoanKorea should shut down all symptoms of a BoanKorea infection and restore your PC to sterling health.
BoanKorea: Korean Scamware for Computers of All Nationalities
Although BoanKorea may originate from a less-than-usual region for malicious software, BoanKorea creates attacks that are similar to those of other fake anti-spyware products that SpywareRemove.com malware researchers have analyzed. Aside from being presented in Korean (which may appear to be nonsensical symbols to you, if you don't have an appropriate language pack installed on your PC), BoanKorea's interactions with your computer are all standard for fake anti-spyware programs, and include:
- Fake system scans that create results that are full of inaccurate infection listings.
- Pop-ups that warn you about system problems that actually aren't on your PC.
- Redirects to BoanKorea's website, which will attempt to steal your credit card information and may even attack your PC with drive-by-download installations.
- BoanKorea may also create instability in your real PC security programs and prevent them from launching or working at full effectiveness.
Regardless of which kind of inaccurate data that BoanKorea spoon-feeds you, you should avoid taking BoanKorea at its word. Attempting to remove false positives that are generated by BoanKorea, risks harm to innocent files on your PC and may damage your operating system.
Repairing Your PC from a BoanKorea Heist
SpywareRemove.com malware experts note that, as long as you avoid BoanKorea's website and do your best to remove BoanKorea as soon as you notice BoanKorea on your PC, the chances of lasting harm to your PC are minimal. You should avoid trying to delete BoanKorea without help, if you can access suitable anti-malware products, since improper removal of BoanKorea will not only leave malicious components behind but may even harm Windows. BoanKorea belongs to the Onescan family of rogue security programs and among its clones are SweeperLab, DoctorCom, PCVaccine, BoanCop, Dr.Boan and CleanBoan.
Attempting to scan your PC and delete BoanKorea while BoanKorea itself is still active is also not recommended. To access Safe Mode and stop BoanKorea from launching itself with Windows, reboot and tap F8 until you can access the advanced boot options menu. 'Safe Mode' will allow you to run any software that you need to detect and remove BoanKorea, while 'Safe Mode with Networking' will also enable limited online connectivity so that you can download any updates that are required.
