ScreenshotAPcDefender is a rogue anti-spyware application that comes from the Wini family of fake security applications. APcDefender is similar to other rogues such as Apcprotect and IGuardPc. APcDefender can be installed automatically through the use of a Trojan horse without the computer user's permission or knowledge. APcDefender is not a trusted security application because it does not have the ability to detect and remove computer parasites.

APcDefender can cause damage to the system that it is installed on by populating the computer with malicious files that have random file names and could load at startup of Windows. The use of fake popup messages and bogus system scan results are used to entice users to purchase a full version of APcDefender. It is recommended that you use a spyware detection tool to safely remove the APcDefender parasite.
