Threat Metric
The Threat Meter is a malware assessment that SpywareRemove.com's research team is able to
give every identifiable malware threat. Our Threat Meter includes several criteria based off of
specific malware threats to value their severity, reach and volume. The Threat Meter is able to give
you a numerical breakdown of each threat's initial Threat Level, Detection Count, Volume Count,
Trend Path and Percentage Impact. The overall ranking of each threat in the Threat Meter is a basic
breakdown of how all threats are ranked within our own extensive malware database. The scoring for
each specific malware threat can be easily compared to other emerging threats to draw a contrast in
its particular severity. The Threat Meter is a useful tool in the endeavor of seeking a solution to
remove a threat or pursue additional analytical research for all types of computer users.
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

i have a PCPrviacycleaner on my pc
What can I say....Thank you. This one does seem so genuinely Microsoft Vista, thing that first gave it away though is I've got XP!! ....and thanks to you it's still running fine 🙂
I just removed this from a system where the guy called me with no details of what was wrong. This thing is really nasty and hides itself all over the machine. If you get a machine infected with it(XP), very first thing boot to safe mode and shut off system restore. It sets a restore point on every boot and reestablishes itself. Get rid of all temp Internet files, regardless of the browser, then after you remove it you still have to go to MSCONFIG and get rid of the VAV entries in start up. Other wise it leaves a pop up message \"unknown word\" and when you click OK it downloads again.
Yes! I finally deleted it, well there is this file, but i'm not going to bother because its really nothing, plus it pretty much stopped working, so im glad i went to the source and killed it, I love this site :]
My system has recently become infected by Vista Antivirus 2008. I have tried everything I was capable of performing as suggested here, and even downloaded and paid for the Spyware's "Free" VA2008 detector/ remover to no avail. VA2008 has corrupted my system so thoroughly that I was incapable of accessing some of the Start > functions even in Safe Mode and the Spyware detector finds the infected files, and while I click to have it delete them, they return as soon as I reboot. After reading Ken Maxwell's comment above, I realized that it may still be lingering in my system, and in places that I unable or disabled from finding. I would consider myself on the higher curve of computer literate, but am far from capable of working on a computer in rudimentary mode of software found in Startup mode. I really cannot afford to lose what's on my hard drive and would direly appreciate any help anyone could offer. Thank you in advance!
I have found a easy way to delete VAV from your computer. Start your computer in Safe Mode, push F8 many times while loading, then select safe mode. scan your computer for VAV Then delete all the files that appear empty your recycle bin and restart your computer
I need assistance with removing the pop up for VAV2008, it comes up every 30 secs.
I have the popup, is it the same as having it downloaded? Help please
Vista antivirus 2008 did so much damage to my computer, after about a week, all my desktop icons and toolbar disappeared and completely disabled my REAL antivirus program!! I tried to remove manually, but my computer gave me error messages when I tried to remove the infected files. I purchased a real anti-spyware program, and it only removed some of the files. Finally, I had to call a professional tech. My computer is just fine now but I had to dish out over $200 to get it completely removed 🙁

After reading the comments I am amazed to see this problem so widespread. But I can relate, had this problem and did just what was said, the spyware download, msconfig, safemood to my own pc, and it worked. Now I have a friend that I am helping who is having the same problem, but she let it go on for a while, plus had very little pc knowledge. It is so bad, she can't get on the net, the rogue boots her out 2 a blank page. Will be applying the same process for her. Her's says, Vista Antivirus 2009. Wish we could send the back to the pc that set it up, or sent it.
