% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

WORM_DORKBOT.SME is a new variant of Dorkbot, a group of worms noted for their widespread distribution through social networks. Although WORM_DORKBOT.SME includes the same capabilities of other versions of Dorkbot, WORM_DORKBOT.SME also boasts a new-found support for distributing itself through multiple instant messenger clients, such as Digsby, Quiet Internet Pager and Imo. Malicious links that are obscured through truncation are sent out by WORM_DORKBOT.SME to any accessible contacts on an infected PC, allowing WORM_DORKBOT.SME to infect a large numbers of computers through instant messages.
