Trojan.Ransomlock!g53

Trojan.Ransomlock!g53 is a ransomlock Trojan that is used by scammers to distribute ransomware to vulnerable PCs. Trojan.Ransomlock!g53 locks the desktop of the affected computer system and makes the PC unusable. Trojan.Ransomlock!g53 displays a fake pop-up warning message on the screen of the targeted computer system and accuses the attacked PC user of breach of certain copyright laws. Trojan.Ransomlock!g53 then asks the victimized PC user to pay a ransom of a certain amount of money via Ukash or MoneyPak to unlock the affected computer. Once executed, Trojan.Ransomlock!g53 drops potentially malicious files. Trojan.Ransomlock!g53 also modifies the Windows Registry by creating and modifying a list of registry entries in order to decrease the ratings for certain zones on the compromised PC, thereby increasing the chance to set a remote connection.
