Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

It seems that shady software companies are pumping out a never-ending amount of dubious, low-quality Google Chrome extensions. The program in question today is called the Travel Buddy New Tab and could be found on the Chrome Web Store for free. This software is created by NewTabTools.com, which is based in Honolulu, US.
The Travel Buddy New Tab is an extension, which (unsurprisingly) changes your new tab. The Travel Buddy New Tab claims to be the perfect tool for users who tend to travel a lot. The creators of the Travel Buddy New Tab state that their product would not only assist you in booking flights, but also in finding hotels or hostels, and even creating your travel plan. Now, on first glance, this might sound like a very useful Chrome extension for the avid traveler. However, we must note that everything it has to offer are links to popular travel-related websites. Therefore, all the information is just a click away, anyway. This makes installing the Travel Buddy New Tab pointless completely.
The interface of the Travel Buddy New Tab isn't as plain as most shady Chrome extensions. The Travel Buddy New Tab changes the background of your new tab page with different scenic photographs from around the world. It has a search bar in the middle of the screen and shows the date in the top right corner. For some reason, the developers of the Travel Buddy New Tab have placed yet another search bar on the top left of the new tab page. Next to this search bar are several buttons, which link to different popular websites. TripAdvisor, Skyscanner, AirBnB, and a weather website are among the pages that could be considered related to travel planning. There also are links to social media websites – Facebook and YouTube.
Overall, while the Travel Buddy New Tab isn't considered unsafe, it's still a dubious Chrome extension that exaggerates its abilities grossly. We recommend that you remove it from your browser, which could be done either with the assistance of a reputable anti-malware app or in the Google Chrome's settings manually.
