My Utility Box

The My Utility Box is a browser extension by Polarity Technologies LTD, which claims to be able to provide users with access to a broad range of convenient Web browser tools like a calculator, note keeper, currency converter, translation service, etc. While all of this might sound good, the My Utility Box does not host any of the tools and features it offers and, instead, all it does is to refer its users to 3rd-party websites used to host the content mentioned above. While this practice is not unsafe, it makes it pretty clear that the installation of the My Utility Box is obsolete since you can get access to the same utilities via a quick Web search.

Another reason why the installation of the My Utility Box is not recommended is that it is impossible to use this add-on unless you permit it to replace the Chrome's default new tab page. This change is not harmful, but it is something that few users will enjoy certainly, considering that the new tab's search feature might not prove to be very reliable.

We advise against using dubious software like the My Utility Box, especially when it does not provide any unique features and, instead, simply refers its users to 3rd-party services and pages.
