Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

MoneyFriend is an aggressive adware application whose presence on a computer will not go unnoticed for too long. When this program is installed, it will bring various unknown extensions to the user's Web browser immediately, and some of them might have an adverse impact on the user's Web browsing experience. Some of the browser add-ons linked to MoneyFriend's presence are Furniture Guru, IndiaShopps, and MSoft Update, but it is entirely possible that the names of the extensions may change over time. In addition to the undesired installation of browser add-ons, MoneyFriend also might modify opened pages by injecting customized JavaScript code in their source code automatically. While the injected code is not harmful, its true purpose is to display 3rd-party ads in the opened pages, therefore exposing the user to marketing content they might not want to see. Naturally, this action is performed to generate revenue for the people affiliated with the advertisements that MoneyFriend promotes.
In addition to adding extensions and an external JavaScript code automatically, MoneyFriend may also configure the user's browser to use the Proxomitron proxy server. This change might cause the user's browser to load pages more slowly and, in addition to this, the proxy server might be configured to add additional advertisements to opened pages. By using several sources of advertisements, MoneyFriend might clutter opened websites significantly, and render them barely usable.
MoneyFriend may display ads from multiple websites, but two of the primary sources appear to be browserinfo.org and browsersecurity.info. Both of these domains lead to blank pages so that it is possible that their sole purpose might be to promote the advertisements linked to MoneyFriend.
If the number of ads in your Web browser has recently increased drastically, and you have no idea what might have caused this, then it is very likely that you might have an adware problem on your hands. Usually, adware like MoneyFriend is not considered threatening, but it is important to keep in mind that the ads these applications display might sometimes include dubious content, services, and programs that should not be trusted. Regardless of the ads been caused by MoneyFriend or other adware, the cure is always the same – run a credible and up-to-date an-virus software suite, which will scan your computer for suspicious programs and eliminate potential intruders like MoneyFriend automatically.
