Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

The MapsNT Extension is a dubious browser add-on which is only available for users of Google Chrome. As the name indicates, this add-on is meant to provide its users with access to various online maps that can give users access to driving directions, public transport maps, and other services which can help you plan your next commute or trip around the city. However, users who plan on running the MapsNT Extension might want to know that this add-on does not possess any of the content it offers and, instead, all it does is to refer its users to popular 3rd-party services such as Google Maps, Yahoo Maps, and others. While these actions are not suspicious, it is undeniable that they do render the MapsNT Extension useless, since all of the data it provides can be found and accessed with a quick Web search.
The MapsNT Extension is part of the product line of Polarity Technologies LTD, a software publisher whose reputation is plagued by its links to a long list of Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) whose installation might lead to unexpected changes to the Web browser's configuration. In the case of the MapsNT Extension, users are likely to have their default search aggregator or new tab page replaced with an alternative Web page affiliated with Polarity Technologies.
The MapsNT Extension by Polarity seems to also have several clones which are identical in terms of functionality and, are also identified as Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs):
- Fast Local Maps by Fastlocalmaps.com
- Free Driver Maps by Freedrivermaps.com
- Get Maps FastV2 by Getmapsfast.com
- Local Maps Access by Search.searchlma.com
- Maps Driving Directions by Mapsdivingdirections.org
If you have the MapsNT Extension running, we suggest that you consider removing it either manually or with the help of PC security software. By doing this, you should guarantee that your browser's settings also will be reverted to their previous values.
