Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

FLV Runner Toolbar is a modified version of the Google Toolbar that's used to promote sites affiliated with the Conduit company, such as searchconduit.com and flvrunner.ourtoolbar.com. Although FLV Runner Toolbar appears to offer benevolent search-related functions, FLV Runner Toolbar also contains some aspects of a Potentially Unwanted Program by resisting normal removal methods, changing your browser settings without permission and disabling add-ons related to website safety ranking. Given these traits, along with the fact that SpywareRemove.com malware researchers have found that sites affiliated with FLV Runner Toolbar tend to have poor search capabilities, deleting FLV Runner Toolbar should be considered high on your priority list. If you use adequate anti-malware software, you should not experience problems removing FLV Runner Toolbar, like most PUPs.
A Comprehensive List of Reasons to Run Fast from the FLV Runner Toolbar
The Conduit company is responsible for a number of variously-named toolbars that all perform the same primary function: redirecting traffic to their web pages, with different sub-domains of conduit.com, ourtoolbar.com and related sites being used as semi-functional search engines. Victims of redirects by FLV Runner Toolbar have reported that associated search sites have very poor search functions and are likely to include irrelevant results and advertisements along with normal links. Forms of browser hijack attacks that SpywareRemove.com malware experts particularly associate with FLV Runner Toolbar include:
- Redirects to FLV Runner Toolbar-related sites when you try to use another search engine.
- Having your homepage locked on a FLV Runner Toolbar-affiliate website.
- Having certain web safety plugins (such as the Web of Trust or WOT add-on) disabled without your permission.
Like many PUPs, FLV Runner Toolbar avoids displaying itself as a browser extension or an independent program that can be uninstalled from the Control Panel. SpywareRemove.com malware analysts note that the most convenient way to delete FLV Runner Toolbar is to run an anti-malware scan to remove all of its components without damaging any related applications.
How FLV Runner Toolbar Came Full-Tilt at Your PC
FLV Runner Toolbar is distributed through unrelated applications that are downloaded from third-party sources, such as general download websites and P2P torrent networks. Screen capture programs and media applications are often used for such purposes, and SpywareRemove.com malware researchers generally encourage you to avoid unauthorized software sources as infection vectors for FLV Runner Toolbar and similar PUPs.
In spite of its many mildly negative attributes, FLV Runner Toolbar hasn't been noted to engage in high-level attacks of any sort, nor have SpywareRemove.com malware experts reported extremely dangerous web content on FLV Runner Toolbar-affiliated websites. While interaction with such sites is inadvisable, a temporary FLV Runner Toolbar infection is unlikely to result in other hazards for your PC unless FLV Runner Toolbar is allowed to remain active for an excessive amount of time.
