Everbe 2.0 Ransomware
The Everbe 2.0 Ransomware is a file-locker which, unfortunately, uses a secure file-encryption method that malware researchers are unable to crack. This means that the victims of this threat will not be able to rely on free decryption software unless the authors of the threatening program opt to release one for free. Sadly, they don't seem to plan this for now since the Everbe 2.0 Ransomware's ransom note states that the victims will be asked to pay a ransom sum in exchange for a decryption tool.
When the Everbe 2.0 Ransomware attacks a computer, it will attempt to encrypt the contents of an expanded range of file formats such as documents, images, music, videos, archives and others. All files that are encrypted successfully will have their original file extension changed to '.[eV3rbe@rape.lol].eV3rbe.' In addition to these changes, the victims also will be provided with a concise ransom message, which is delivered via the file 'Readme if you want to restore files.txt.' Its contents reveal that the attackers want to be contacted by messaging either ev3rbe@rape.lol or ev3ebe@tuta.io. They also warn the victim that the ransom sum (not included in the ransom note) will be doubled if not paid within seven days of the attack.
The extortion tricks used by the attackers are rather threatening certainly, but we assure you that meeting their demands might turn out to be a very bad idea. The money they receive from the Everbe 2.0 Ransomware's victims might be used to develop even more severe file-encryption Trojans, which also are likely to reach even more users.
As mentioned earlier, recovering the files damaged by the Everbe 2.0 Ransomware's attack is nearly impossible unless you have an unharmed backup of your data. Some 3rd-party file recovery software might be able to reverse a portion of the damage that the Everbe 2.0 Ransomware causes but it is highly unlikely that anyone will be able to make a full recovery. Before starting any file recovery operations, you need to fully remove the Everbe 2.0 Ransomware with the help of anti-malware software suite.
