The Dharma-Gate Ransomware is a file-locker that can prevent its victims from accessing the majority of their files. The Dharma-Gate Ransomware marks all locked files with the extension ‘.id-.[lockhelp@qq.com].gate.’ The ransom note that the ransomware leaves behind does not reveal the amount of money that the attackers demand, but you can rest assured that they will not be willing to help out unless they get at least a few hundred dollars in return. The only payment detail revealed by the ransom message is that the Dharma-Gate Ransomware’s authors work with Bitcoin payments.

Of course, you should not send any money to the Dharma-Gate Ransomware’s authors because they may not fulfill their part of the deal. The suggestion to the victims of this file-locker is to use a reputable anti-virus tool to remove the infected files, and then look into alternative data recovery options.
