CrankWeb is adware that may be installed onto the computer system together with a variety of freeware that PC users can download from the Internet. CrankWeb may cover the screen of the PC with numerous random pop-up ads and banners, which may contain offers and discount coupons. If the PC user clicks on any pop-up advertisements, CrankWeb may forcibly redirect the PC user to questionable websites. CrankWeb may advertise suspicious websites, services and products. CrankWeb may also gather browsing information about the computer user's search requests, browsing habits and websites he is visiting.
