AddUpgrade

Posted: March 17, 2020

The AddUpgrade program is an app that may be loaded on Mac OS X computers where it displays random advertisements and could also hijack popular web browser applications. The hijacking of web browsers from AddUpgrade is known to cause loading of questionable pages or sites that may promote various products and services.

The initial offer from AddUpgrade may be to add various web search features to your Mac computer and its installed web browsers. Much of what AddUpgrade offers can be considered as redundant or useless as many of its search features are found by using trusted sources like Google, Bing, or Yahoo. In most cases Mac computer users will not find any benefit to using AddUpgrade, which classifies it as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP).

Removal of AddUpgrade may be accomplished by using an antimalware program for your Mac computer, which will automatically find and remove AddUpgrade along with any of its installed components.
