How to Uninstall VLC Media Player
The VLC Media Player has been one of the leading media players for both Windows and macOS for over a year. Uninstalling VLC Media Player on Windows
Go to the Start Menu and find Apps. Once this section is open, select 'Apps and Features' and then find 'VLC Media Player' in the list on the right. Select it and click 'Uninstall' to start the removal process.
You can accomplish the same by running VLC Media Player's uninstaller. It is found in one of these directories under the name 'uninstall.exe:'
- C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC
- C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC
Uninstalling VLC Media Player on macOS
Quit VLC by clicking on its icon in the menu bar, and then selecting 'Quit VLC.' Go to Finder -> Applications and drag VLC Media Player's icon to the trash bin. After this, use Finder to find and delete the following files:
- ~Library/Application Support/org.videolan.vlc
- ~Library/Saved Application State/org.videolan.vlc.savedState
- ~Library/Preferences/org.videolan.vlc
- ~Library/Preferences/org.videolan.vlc.plist
