Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

The Polizia Di Stato Virus (or State Police Virus) is a ransomware Trojan attack that's displayed for infected PCs with Italian IP addresses. Polizia Di Stato Virus attacks block you from using other programs by displaying fraudulent legal warnings. These messages insist that your PC is being blocked as a consequence of online crimes that require you to pay a fine and even threaten you with monitoring your typing and webcam. Like all of the many other ransomware Trojans that display similar behavior, Polizia Di Stato Virus isn't tied to Italy's police and isn't able to follow up on its threats of additional legal action. SpywareRemove.com malware analysts can find no solution to a Polizia Di Stato Virus infection better than using standard anti-malware methods and software to remove Polizia Di Stato Virus, just as you should do with any malware.
Polizia Di Stato Virus and Its Tweaks to the Same Scamthat's Struck Italy More Times Than Can Be Counted
The Polizia Di Stato Virus displays a pop-up alert that pretends to be from Italy's state police, although the Polizia Di Stato Virus actually is even more illegal than the crimes the Polizia Di Stato Virus claims you've committed. Polizia Di Stato Virus warns that you're being fined for pornography-related crimes that require you to pay one hundred Euros unless you want other legal punishments to befall you. Like similar ransomware Trojans, the Polizia Di Stato Virus uses some of the symbols of Italy, PC security companies and voucher company logos to make itself look legitimate.
This isn't the first ransomware Trojan that SpywareRemove.com malware analysts have seen attack Italian-based PCs. Similar PC threats include 'Il Suo computer e'stato bloccato' Ransomware, Guardia di Finanza Ransomware and Polizia postale e delle communication Ransomware. However, the Polizia Di Stato Virus uses a new template that hasn't been seen in use with other ransomware-based attacks; this pop-up template is differentiated by its general layout and the unusual inclusion of a bar code.
Polizia Di Stato Virus also claims (inaccurately) that the Polizia Di Stato Virus is monitoring all your computer activities, although the Polizia Di Stato Virus lacks the webcam 'recording' window that SpywareRemove.com malware analysts have seen on other ransomware Trojans like FBI Moneypak Ransomware.
Why It's Safe to Laugh at the Polizia Di Stato Virus's Legal Warnings
The Polizia Di Stato Virus isn't monitoring your PC, can't detect crimes and is unable to backup any of its legal threats. SpywareRemove.com malware research team suggests that you avoid paying Polizia Di Stato Virus, since that action just funds continued attacks by criminal malware teams. Ignoring the Polizia Di Stato Virus's random demand never will harm your computer.
If you're unable to run anti-malware programs that can remove the Polizia Di Stato Virus right away, you should try to disable the Polizia Di Stato Virus and its fake alert. Either Safe Mode or booting your OS from a clean source (such as a USB thumb drive) should accomplish this easily. Since Polizia Di Stato Virus may be installed with other forms of malware, SpywareRemove.com malware researchers recommend that you scan your entire PC.
