Trojan.JS.FakeUpdate.bp is a highly dangerous threat to compromised computers. Trojan.JS.FakeUpdate.bp invites users to download and install a fake video player. BTrojan.JS.FakeUpdate.bp becomes active when computer users upload a corrupt video from websites related to this cyber scam. The video fails to play and soon a popup appears, explaining that a certain video player needs to be uploaded for the clip to play. Ransomware accompanies the download, demanding a fee for viewing the video. Trojan.JS.FakeUpdate.bp threatens to block the computer system until the payment is made.
