Advertiser Bot Description
This freeware RAT was created using C++ applicationming language in February 2002. The author is TomKat. RAT applications are often used by hackers to get remote access to user's PC. The functions of such malware may vary, from simple monitoring, to obtaining a full control over the computer, allowing the intruder to remove files, steal passwords, and do a lot of other nasty things with your machine. There most recent ways of getting such a "nice" application are the File and Print Sharing ability and e-mail. When trying to infect the PC through the e-mail, the trojan can be masked as some useful application, convincing the user to run it.

Advertiser Bot Manual Removal Instructions
Backup Reminder: Always be sure to back up your PC before making any changes.To remove Advertiser Bot, you must first stop any Advertiser Bot processes that are running in your computer's memory. To stop all Advertiser Bot processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for Advertiser Bot, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.
To delete Advertiser Bot registry keys, open the Windows Registry Editor by clicking on the Windows "Start" button and selecting "Run." Type "regedit" into the box and click "OK." Once the Registry Editor is open, search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Advertiser Bot." Right-click this registry key and select "Delete."
Finally, to completely get rid of Advertiser Bot, you must manually remove other Advertiser Bot files. These Advertiser Bot files can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, Advertiser Bot might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%\Advertiser Bot\Advertiser Bot.exe. Locate and remove these files.
